Music SA and Adelaide City Council have brought back Winter Jams for 2016!

Spend three days learning about the different styles of contemporary music and their relevance, explore structured methods, explore creativity and set up and use a small P.A. The sessions will include song writing, recording, rehearsal techniques and preparing for live performances.

The workshops are being held for 13-17 year olds (Please fill in the participant’s name and birthdate information when purchasing the ticket).

Participants will get a chance to perform their songs live at the Jade Monkey on the Wednesday night and their friends and family are invited to purchase tickets to the gig! The gig will feature The Artisan Rabbits, the band that formed at the first Winter Jams workshop and has gone on to build their career as a performing act.

There will be a “Behind the Scenes” mini documentary made of the workshop and performances so participants have something to share with their friends online afterwards.

Day One
Focuses on song writing, looking into the importance of crafting your own song, foundations and formations and ways of catching the ear of the monumentally distracted, fragmented listener.

Day Two
Focuses on recording your own song, how to perform on stage and the discussion on stage craft.

Day Three
The focus will be on stage set up, using a PA, performing in front of a camera and running a sound check before friends and family arrive for your live gig.

BYO Lunch and water are essential.
