Eliza Reid, Music SA Project Officer

The 'Simon Says' column is a hard act to follow, and now that I'm finally in the hot seat, I find myself a little stuck for words…which is where you come in! Welcome to 'Ask Eliza' - a new column that lets you pose your burning questions about SA music - its personalities, its history, its direction - whatever you want to know.
Every month or so I'll tackle a new issue about our local scene, as submitted by you, the punters of Musicsa.com.au.
I'm no walking encyclopedia, but will do my best to cover a subject to your satisfaction. And if I don't - tell me so! This column is all about your input, and while I’ll start the ball rolling, it's up to you to maintain the dialogue.
Musicsa.com.au has changed a lot recently, with a polished look, more features, new columns such as this one; but one thing that hasn't changed is its mission.
As a non-profit, government funded site, Musicsa.com.au aims to be a site for - and by - the SA music scene. Ultimately, the continued success of Musicsa.com.au relies on the participation of artists, venues, audiences and other music-lovers.
In keeping with this theme, 'Ask Eliza' offers one more example of how you can contribute to the site. No question is too simple; some might prove too hard, but again, I'll give it a go.
As for controversial themes, bring it on. I may not accept every challenge (or bait), but let's keep things interesting, shall we? You can pose your question anonymously if you wish, but please folks, this is not an opportunity for an all-out-rage-fest.
I'd like to see questions that will really help other SA artists, or provide an understanding of what SA music is all about, for those who are new to the scene. Hopefully we'll build a handy archive of info that will become it's own little 'how to' or 'how come' guide - or at least a nice snapshot in time of the SA music scene.
So over to you - let's have some questions and put me to work!
