Federal Funding for Touring

07/11/2006

In the May 2006 Federal Budget the Contemporary Music Touring Program was allocated $1 million over four years, starting in 2006-07. This builds on previous funding for contemporary music touring of $1 million over four years from 2002-03.

The Contemporary Music Touring Program will continue to support touring opportunities for Australian musicians, and increase audience access to live Australian contemporary music, particularly in regional and remote Australia.

The Contemporary Music Touring Program now includes special assistance for tours to remote communities, through its Touring Remote Areas (TRAX) guidelines.

Round 12 has now closed. We anticipate that applicants will be notified of the outcomes in October/November 2006.

Application forms for Round 13 are now available from the official website. The closing date for Round 13 applications is 6 February 2007 (for tours taking place from 1 July 2007).

All professional members of the Australian music industry are eligible to apply for funding including performers, managers, agents, music networks and music organisations.

Application forms, Explanatory Notes and Guidelines for applying are available from www.dcita.gov.au/arts/arts/touring_program or by contacting music.touring@dcita.gov.au.

If you have any queries about applying or would like to discuss your project, please contact Nicole Henry, Program Officer on (02) 6271 1715.
