This year, for the very first time, the Fringe will formally acknowledge and reward the very best in innovative arts and fresh ideas through the inaugural Fringe Awards. The Awards will include the Off the Couch Music Award which will be presented to the most outstanding band performing at Carclew's Off the Couch at Fresh Bait nights.
Carclew's Off the Couch at Fresh Bait will rock Fowlers Live every Monday night of the Adelaide Fringe. You can enjoy different music genres and line ups each night, and all three of gigs are FREE!
The lucky winning band will score a place in the line up at the City Sparks concert to be held in Adelaide later this year. This new event will be held approximately 6 weeks after the Fringe. Music industry professionals will judge all ten acts at the Fresh Bait gigs for this award.

Carclew's Off The Couch is the only annual South Australian contemporary youth music festival, by, for, and with young people under 27. It has showcased and promoted the talent of over 550 emerging young artists, and has been designed, organised and implemented by over 440 resourceful, energetic and dedicated young people that it also serves. Teams of young people are appointed to steer and program the events. They make up the entire creative, administrative, production, promotion, and logistics teams.
Carclew's Off The Couch is dedicated to promoting and showcasing the talents of emerging young bands and artists based in South Australia. Not only does it support and educate young talented songwriters/ musicians/ electronic artists; it provides South Australia's youth and the live music loving public an opportunity to hear the future of original Australian music. Over the past ten-years more than 49,000 people have attended Off The Couch!
