Hair On Fire Win RNR Studio Time

A huge congratulations to Hair on Fire, a young band who recently won the MusicSA Competition for studio time at RNR Studios.

One of our website's Loyalty businesses (see our Local Loyalty page) RNR studios is a fully equipped specialist recording centre catering for all musicians and musical styles. As a generous offer to MusicSA listed artists, the studio offered a special contest for up & coming bands to be able to record a demo with engineer, Josh Anderson.

Hair on Fire stood out amongst the entries.... these four young year 9 students from Brighton Secondary School in Adelaide may be small in size (in their own words!) but they're big in talent.

Formed in 2005, the band plays light metal and rock music as influenced by Siverchair, Grannyflat, Living End and Led Zeppelin. Their set mixes lighter songs with a groovy sax line with heavier songs classed as metal, and they got their start at the popular Reynella Youth and Enterprise Centre open mic series, "Stage against the Machine."

After a year of gigs around town, they were keen to hit the studio and lay down their first demo. The session "was a huge learning experience, and a lot of fun" and they are really pleased with the outcome. The original called 'Faceless' shows off their energy and pure rock riffs n rhythms. The band had such a good time, they will be returning there to record more tracks with Josh at RnR soon. So look out for new tracks 'shit happens' and 'de d d ddd d' (does it really need a name?) and a CD coming soon.

Hair on Fire will be playing at the Reynella Youth Centre on October the 20th and December 15th.
