about this course:

Once an act is established in their immediate environment, the next logical step is to build their market in their local region. It is also a great way of testing their music product with people who don’t know them. In this unit, you will cover the logistics of putting a local music act on the road.

Each week, a range of prominent music industry practitioners and business operators will work with students to:

•    Examine the logistics of organising a regional tour for a band.

•    Draw up a short-form booking confirmation.

•    Construct an example budget for a three-four day regional tour by a band.

Qualification:     This course is a Unit of Study, which forms part of the complete CUS40301 Certificate IV in Music Industry (Business).

When competence is demonstrated Statements of Attainment are issued for the following units:
CUSGEN03A – Collaborate with colleagues in planning & producing a project
CUSADM03A – Manage a project

Entry requirements: No formal qualifications required, however, demonstrated interest in entering the music industry as a career and/or music industry experience is desirable.  No age restrictions.
