MUSIC SA formerly Ausmusic SA) runs nationally accredited and non-accredited, project based and industry recognised Music Business Courses. Each course is designed and delivered by industry professionals to give you the skills to make your mark in the music industry. Each accredited course comprises of Unit/s of Study, which form part of the CUS40301 Certificate IV in Music Industry (Business). When competence is demonstrated Statements of Attainment are issued (see course outlines for relevant Units)

How to Plan and Manage Touring Your Band

 

WEDNESDAYS 7.00pm to 10.00pm

Once an act is established in their immediate environment, the next logical step is to build their market in their local region. It is also a great way of testing their music product with people who don’t know them. In this unit, you will cover the logistics of putting a local music act on the road.

Each week, a range of prominent music industry practitioners and business operators will work with students to:

•    Examine the logistics of organising a regional tour for a band.

•    Draw up a short-form booking confirmation.

•    Construct an example budget for a three-four day regional tour by a band.



Qualification:     This course is a Unit of Study, which forms part of the complete CUS40301 Certificate IV in Music Industry (Business).

When competence is demonstrated Statements of Attainment are issued for the following units:
CUSGEN03A – Collaborate with colleagues in planning & producing a project
CUSADM03A – Manage a project

Entry requirements: No formal qualifications required, however, demonstrated interest in entering the music industry as a career and/or music industry experience is desirable.  No age restrictions.

Last day to enroll:    Enrollment must be received by 5.00pm 8th March 2010.
Enrollment must be PAID IN FULL by 5.00pm 5th March for Earlybird Discount to apply
Note - it is advised to enrol as soon as possible as there are 18 places only.

Payment:    A deposit of $100 must accompany enrollment, due no later than 8th March 2009.  Remaining is due no later than 30 days after payment of deposit.

Cancellation:    Notice of cancellation is required no later than 11th March 2010.  If notice of cancellation is received after this date, payment received will not be refunded.
