more sets for adelaide
Updated 24 January 2012
The Big Day Out festival has begun its national tour, and just before it kicked off promoters surprised everyone with announcements of new additional sets.
Great news for Adelaide: New York hipster-hop group Das racist will now perform at Wayville Showgrounds at the February 3rd event, doing a set on the Hot Produce Stage from 7:30pm. Australia's own The Living End is also on the way to Adelaide, performing on the Hot Produce Stage from 6pm. We'll miss out on Grinspoon (playing Sydney) and Grind Time Now (Melbourne).

Here's another reason to keep smiling - a great lineup of local acts that will be perfoming at Adelaide's Big Day Out: Mase N Mattic, Coerce, Dangerous!, Leader Cheetah, Paper Arms, Gold Bloom, Ben David & The Banned, Ride Into The Sun, Koolta, Stubanga, Bollocks Deejays, Nosweet, The Rules, Rad Bad, The Honey Pies and Love Cream.
big changes for big day out
Updated: 22 November 2011
This year The Big Day Out has made some massive changes, but organisers insist that it is "to ensure our BEST always comes before BIG at all costs."
However, the need to reduce from two to one main stage in Adelaide also means several acts from the first announcement will not be able to perform in Adelaide.
Unfortunately The Living End, Mariachi El Bronx and Kanye West will not be appearing at the Adelaide Big Day Out.
Band-wise, this means for Adelaide it will be:
NOEL GALLAGHER’S HIGH FLYING BIRDS, NERO (LIVE), THE VACCINES, BASSNECTAR, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, REGURGITATOR, DRAPHT, KIMBRA, BLUEJUICE, ABBE MAY, TONITE ONLY, SHOCKONE plus TRIPLE J UNEARTHED WINNER, HONEY PIES.
Who will now be joining:
SOUNDGARDEN, KASABIAN, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, HILLTOP HOODS, BATTLES, ODD FUTURE, GIRL TALK, PARKWAY DRIVE, RÖYKSOPP, FOSTER THE PEOPLE, THE JEZABELS, ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI, THE GETAWAY PLAN, CAGE THE ELEPHANT, FRENZAL RHOMB, BOY & BEAR and BEST COAST.
Current ticket holders in Adelaide have a few options (due to the changes being made after tickets first went on sale...). See the official site for details.
