A YEAR OF 1STS FOR THE ANNUAL CAMPING + MUSIC FEST

To celebrate its fourth consecutive year and first year of expanding to a 2-day event LilkaFest camping and music festival will host a launch party on September 23rd.

In 2011 LilkaFest returns for what will be its biggest year to date beginning on Friday the 25th of November and finishing up on Sunday the 27th. It will host interstate acts for the first time in its short history, whilst still supporting the grass roots, South Australian acts in which the festival has been built.

LilkaFest is throwing a launch party in conjunction with the fourwords event at the Rhino Room on Friday the 23rd of September from 7:30pm. Special guests from previous LilkaFest events will be playing at the party including Littlefish and Track Team, they will also be joined by Adelaide outfit Lost Giants. Launch party attendees will gain exclusive access to purchase a limited number of discounted LilkaFest tickets from $79+BF.

LilkaFest, renowned for its intimate setting and highly energetic crowds will again be held on a private, family farm near Meningie.

The LilkaFest line-up for 2011 boasts some of Adelaide and Australia’s most exciting up and coming musical acts, including:

Western Australian act Tim and Jean, who’s combined musical influences and tastes create a
synth heavy sound, with an undercurrent of indie pop. Leader Cheetah have appeared at festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, Big Day Out, St Jerome's Laneway Festival and Come Together and they are fast becoming festival veterans.

No strangers to getting a party started, The Levitators, with their electro, funk and reggae sounds along with local act Irie Knights with overwhelming spirit, energy and hard hitting reggae grooves, are guaranteed to move audiences. Ride Into the Sun’s slow-burning psychedelic rock, paints a sound-scape that takes festival-goers on a trip from droning guitar, to blissful noise all at once.

With their unashamedly poppy, punchy and dreamy sound The Salvadors hit the stage along with electro rock outfit The Killgirls who will bring their smack in your face synth sounds front and centre stage. Bringing the ‘heavy’ back to the country are Celtic punk outfit The Thieves who in a very short amount of time have aroused a rather large cult following. LilkaFest’s resident DJs Track Team return to the stage with their unique party pleasing mash-up sounds. Further line-up announcements coming very shortly.

about lilkafest

LilkaFest Camping and Music Festival has been running annually since its inception in 2008. From small and humble beginnings the event organised by brother and sister act Dave and Hels Orr has been steadily growing momentum. LilkaFest is held on a local family farm 15km outside of the lower lakes regional township of Meningie. The event provides a down and dirty weekend for attendees, packed full of talented alternative idie musical acts preforming on a single stage in an intimate and engaging environment.

In its fourth year LilkaFest extends to a multi-day event, with a key emphasis on providing a safe, professional, and innovative musical experience. LilkaFest strives to offer an event that caters for both city and rural demographics, immersing the two in a fun and festive atmosphere.

LilkaFest still holds a proud and passionate belief in being local, supporting local, and most importantly being South Australian proud.
