Wow FM Needs CDs
Against the odds, WOW FM community radio is back up and running on 100.5 fm. After a devastating firebombing, the station is now on the air again and broadcasting over the internet too (checkout www.stream.wowfm.org ).
Local bands are needed to contribute CDs to the station's library, as they lost a lot of the original collection in the tragedy. Send them to PO box 96 Semaphore SA.
And why not become a member and support the community station financially? If you're a band and become a member apparently they will put you on high airplay rotation...
There are also still some blank spots in their presenter list, so if you're up for some DJing check out www.wowfm.org .
MusicSA's tip for a good program: check out Lord Stompy on the airwaves from 2pm - 5pm on Tuesdays, playing lots of local music plus gypsy, ska, African, Arabic, psychedelic, funk, old skool blues/ jazz and rock.
