give your events career a boost with free training
Calling all South Australians who are looking to boost their career skills in creative events!
Register your interest in being part of a "creative event training intensive" to be held in Adelaide, Friday 6 January - Friday 27 January 2012.
Registrations must be received by Wednesday 30 November.
This project is facilitated by Service Skills SA, and aims to create a greater event ready workforce for South Australia and increase employment prospects for participants. The intensive is designed for unemployed or under-employed individuals with limited or no experience within the events sector who are enthusiastically seeking to forge / strengthen a career in this area.
The intensive will run for 3 weeks from 6 January - 27 January in Adelaide, the training is FREE for 24 participants.
Participants will gain the opportunity to acquire a combination of the following skills: forklift and boom-type elevating work platform, scissor-lift, OHS Whitecard, Senior First Aid, Traffic Management, Fire Warden and Hot Fire extinguisher tickets.
Selected participants will undertake a dogging course to gain their dogging ticket (which is a pre-requisite for basic rigging).
TAFE SA will deliver the following accredited modules as one-day workshops from the Certificate III in Events: 'Provide event staging support,' 'Develop and update event industry knowledge,' 'Select Sites & Venues' and 'Work with colleagues and customers' A staging module from the Certificate III in Live Production, Theatre and Events will also be delivered. And there will also be a day full of various industry knowledge seminars so you receive a good overview of the events sector and the opportunities it can offer.
Please note: participants must be permanent residents of South Australia.
