Adelaides jangiest two-piece THE AMCATS, return with their new double A-side single “Peggy Sue / Rain Rain Rain”, to be released on limited 7” vinyl and free download in late June on SMASHED RECORDS. This latest effort was recorded in New York City at THE SEASIDE LOUNGE with acclaimed producer Phil Palazzolo (Neko Case, The New Pornographers, Lightspeed Champion), recorded straight to tape on a frosty winters day. The tracks were also mastered in London by Graeme Durham at THE EXCHANGE MASTERING STUDIOS, whose repertoire includes Grace Jones, Bob Marley, Bjork, Freddie Mercury, Ladyhawke, Oasis, and Nick Cave just to name a few. The last couple of years have seen them pick up national (JJJ, RTR, FBi, 3D) & international airplay (France, Portugal, Greece, Spain, USA), release a string of sold out 7” records, support the likes of Die! Die! Die! (NZ) and The Bellrays (US), and their song ‘Down Below’ was also recently featured in the making-of MIKE JUDGE’S cult favourite film EXTRACT (starring Jason Bateman & Mila Kunis) released worldwide. They are currently writing a new EP and an east-coast tour will be announced soon.
