A.M.O.C Biography

A.M.O.C

Genre: Metal

A.M.O.C or A Murder of Crows was first formed around April 2006 originally consisting of only 2 members. PAUL RUSSELL on Vocals and CHRIS REYNOLDS on guitar. The bass and drums were both written on, and performed by, a laptop computer.

Around Oct to Dec of 06, A.M.O.C was to grow to three members as SHANE CARROLL (Guitar) also was on board. A lot of work was still to be done at this stage as Shane had only just started to learn the instrument.

The band was to carry on as a 3 piece for a year and a half as the band saw the audition and failure of 3 bass players and 2 drummers and the production of a really crap quality demo that was mixed and recorded in a shed in Chris's backyard... Great sounding stuff!!!!

Sunday the 11th of November was definately a day to remember as it was the band's first gig. The band played all original songs to a crowd of 6 to 10 people, 4 of which were BLOODMASON who were playing the same show... Not one of our finest moments.

In March 2008, things started to look up for the band as they found a home of sorts at Elizabeth's NSS (Northern Sound System). There they played their second gig and it was a much better turn out with around 20 to 30 ppl present for the 40 degree night (YES I SAID NIGHT!!!).

A.M.O.C finally had started to turn heads, and by this point were being noticed and remembered (That's the cool bit!!! :p ) for their performances. The more important part about this is they attracted the attention of Richard Palmer. The drummer for another awesome metal band DEATH SECTION and incidentally, the fastest drummer in the state. Through all the effort the band had gone through to try and recruit other people to join... All efforts seemed fruitless... So imagine our surprise when we simply asked, "Hey Richie, you wanna play drums for us?"... And he replied with a simple, "Yes."

Through the connection we add SEAN HENLEY on Bass. Sean, although only been playing bass for less then 5 years by this point, showed dedication with learning songs going so far as to learn 3 of them the first week he got them.

During the months of July, August and September of 2008, AMOC began recording their first official demo. The recordings were raw as hell with all the work being done in Chris's lounge room. The 2008 Official Demo will include:

1. Censor This
2. Live The Lie
3. My Last Breath
4. Regret
5. God Of War
6. Breaking Me Down

With possibly more to follow. We believe that these 6 songs have enough power and punch to make the world take notice. Now 5 strong, A.M.O.C is a force to be reckoned with. The music is a blistering mix of power, aggression, speed, brutality and punishment and the end result is ground breaking music that leaves you in a state of awe.
