Genre:Folk, Lyrical, Solo instrumental
Swedish-born Andy Salvanos is a former session bassist whose career began in Los Angeles and culminated in performing with Archie Roach on "The Tracker" soundtrack. Since 2007 Andy has gained attention as an exponent of the Chapman Stick; an instrument which combines elements of guitar, bass and tuned percussion. He has performed at the Adelaide International Guitar Festival and National Folk Festival, collaborated with the Graduate Singers Choir and supported Canadian singer Jane Siberry. He is also one of Australia's most recognised street performers, and has been featured by Australian Music Forum, ABC Radio (SA & NT), Merge press, Stick Enterprises, The Australian, and Just Plain Folks. Andy has released three solo albums to date, including the award nominated "Closer" (2007).

"Excellent! Andy has done it ... this is so wonderful, free from sterile overproduction and effects ... pushes this instrument in the same spirit as Michael Hedges .... This is better than I hoped it would be. Check out the samples and get this puppy already!"
(iTunes review of "Closer").
"Andy Salvanos. Your music reminds me of the sound of the world. Thank you for giving us the world to listen to, because sometimes people don't take the time..."
(John Francis Downey, Solo Guitarist, Canada).
"Your friend’s dreamy-eyed hot uncle playing Deep Forest on a 10-stringed plank of wood..."
(Merge Magazine, June 2009).
