The Beards
Genre:Folk, Rock
In 2005, the Beards sprung onto the Adelaide music scene.
The band came into existence when bearded poets, Johann Beardraven, John Beardman and Nathaniel Beard colborated with bearded guitarist, Facey McStublington.
The Beards are a retaliation to the anti-beardism that exists in western society today, and the band's ultimate goal is to live in a world in which every healthy male, and hopefully female too, has an impressive beard.
The musical style of The Beards varies greatly from song to song - from folk to blues, and from rock to jazz. The Beards have been playing to bearded audiencesngs in venues accross Adelaide, including Jive Bar, the Grace Emily, The Prince Albert and The Goodwood Park Hotel.
The Beards have often come under critisism for being too pious and hard-line on their attitude towards unbearded people, even going so far as to insult them and make examples of them from the stage. For now, bearded people get in free to all Beards gigs, but ultimately, the non-bearded won't even be allowed to come.
But whether you are a bearded man or a pathetic, beardless man, with songs like Beard's Club, Baby's Got a Beard and Beard, you'll find yourself joining the Beard Revolution.
