Genre: HipHop
19 year old rapper CAMIRA, is taking Adelaide by storm with his energetic and lyrically aggressive performances.
CAMIRA has acquired the nickname from the industry "The Lyrical Killer" for his precise and 'in your face' style.
CAMIRA spent his early years living in Salisbury Downs, before moving with his family to Mannum at age 8. CAMIRA suggests that his older brother and sister played a big part in influencing his musical taste, introducing him to favourites like Tupac, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, NWA and Cypress Hill. Although the country lifestyle seemed to dominate in Mannum, CAMIRA refused to submit to the country and rock and roll music that surrounded him. Struggling to agree with his teachers and finding himself in alot of trouble, in 2004 CAMIRA and his family re-located back to Salisbury North where he currently resides.
Using his music as a form of self expression, CAMIRA's lyrics show a lot of emotion about the love and adoration he has for his family in 'Struggling' and those who have passed in 'The Weirdest Dream'.
CAMIRA has been representing the Northern Suburbs with regular airplay on 92.7 FRESH FM and Adelaide's 101.5FM with tracks from his first Mixtape 'Birth of a Legend' and also his newly released Mixtape 'The Other Side Of The Tracks'. He has also recieved airplay on 100.5 WOW FM.
CAMIRA has collaborated with many local and international artists, such as IceCold N Deezy from Mississippi, Los from New York, Teacher Preacher from Georgia, President A.C from Memphis, Don Tino from Texas, Tru Colorz from Sydney, Tru Blue and Legacy, both residing in Adelaide, to name a few.
CAMIRA is gaining quite a following around town, performing at numerous Hip Hop gigs, but also as co-project manager for "Emcees for Charity" - a local Hip Hop Event that Camira and his manager organised to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Adelaide.
