The Cannelloni Cowboys

The Cannelloni Cowboys emerged  from the Weekend Warriors Programme, which caters for " Baby Boomers" wanting to get into playing "live" music. The Cowboys song list includes originals and classics by the likes of Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen and Willie Nelson.

 

Coming from a diverse background the Cowboys bring a new view of the material they play and present a "rootsy" set.

 

Lou (Logo) de Leeuw

Logo started in Round 1 of the Weekend Warriors in Hip Joint  and joined again for Round 4 with The Fumbling Stones. He has appeared on the Hillbilly Hoot Radio Show as Logo Mrfit, toured with the Hoot to the Mid North performing at Peccina and was joined by Jimmy G for the Sempahore Music Festival . He joined with Bluey and performed at the finnish line of the Tour Down Under in Yankalilla as the MRfits.

 

Jimmy ( Jimmy G ) Fragnito

Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar and Snare Drum

 

Newly arrived from Sydney, and the combo Spaghetti Western, Jimmy G joined round 4 of the weekend Warriors in The Fumbling Stones. He has appeared on the Hillbilly Hoot Radio Show and The Semaphore Music Festival with Logo. Fronting Spaghetti Western with Logo and Deano at the Weekend Warriors Christmas Show. Jimmy G is also one of the country music songwriters of the band and you can listen out for a Jimmy G original "Email Love", Limosuines and Beauty Queens" and "Destruction" to name a few.

 

Dean (Deano) Beckett

Rhythm Guitar, Back Up Vocals

 

 Joining the Weekend Warrior Program for Round 4 in The Fumbling Stones, Deano has formed the base of the rhythm section of all the incarnations of the bands which are now the Cannelloni Cowboys. Having known to perform at events with other duos at Country Music Festivals in the State, Deano remains one of the original band members.

 

Gerald ( Bluey) Mc Bride

 Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar and Snare Drum

 

Bluey has emerged in the band from a well known outfit, The Ute. Joining with Logo to form the MRfits Bluey has appeared on the Hillbilly Hoot, and the Tour Down Under at Yankallilla. Being a prolific Country music songwriter watch out for his classic "Cowboys Don’t get Embarrassed" and "Wouldn’t it be Great to be in Band", to name only a few.

 

Kevin Neeson

Bass

Our newest member setting the rythem.  Kevin  who also came out oif the Warrior program been in several Warrior bands and finally found one that rehearsed and was committed to Live performance. Hoping to have a Kevin picture up soon and more on his bio.

 

Gigs

 

29th September, 2006 Bluey and Logo join the Hillbilly Hoot to open the Sempahore Music Festival at the Palais from 6pm.The other Cowboys may join them for the "Open Mike" in the Federal Hotel later.

 

1st September, 2006 The Cowboys ride into the Jolly Miller at Hindmarsh to rope in a new audience from 8 pm.

 

26th August, 2006 The Cowboys help the Womens and Childrem's Hospital to raise funds at the Munno Para Bowling Club from 2pm. Jimmy G rides out on his own to MC the Bec Cole gig at the Gawler Show.

 

19th August, 2006 Bluey and Logo ride out to join the Hillbilly Hoot at teh Petanque Club at the Unley Bowling Club from 6pm

 

12th August, 2006 The Cowboys meet Rob Roy in Hutt Street to put that swing in the kilt from 7 pm.
