DARKHORSE Biography

DARKHORSE

Genre: Rock

From the muddy mangroves of the states far north-west, the figures rise bringing forth a plethora of captivating melodies, rhythms and insidious riffs. Darkhorse draw on a wide range of influences, some obvious and some not so, to produce their own brand of indie blues-rock psychedelia with progressive and modern twists. Featuring Rudi Wewzow on lead vocals and guitar, Nick Burt on rhythm guitar, keyboards, percussion and backing vocals, Dennis Gonzalez on bass and backing vocals and Cain Burk-Press on drums, Darkhorse always deliver passionate, engaging and energetic live performances.

Forming in January of 2005, Darkhorse (then known as The Crooks) have performed in many of Adelaide’s premier live music venues including The Governor Hindmarsh, Jive, Exeter on Rundle, Crown and Anchor and The Elephant and Wheelbarrow. The band released their first official demo/EP (produced, recorded, mixed and mastered chiefly by Darkhorse) in March 2006 just in time for their FUSE Festival showcase performance. This is enjoying regular airplay on 3D Radio 93.7fm. Darkhorse aims to increase their profile throughout the music industry locally through their involvement with local radio and music festivals with the goal of touring interstate and securing high-profile supports.
