Genre: Acoustic, Pop, Pop/rock, Rock Closely knit, members include a husband (Jeremy Owen), wife (Emma Owen) and brother (Tim Owen), giving The Divide a unified drive and direction, both professionally and sonically. Having fulfilled their goal of recording a debut self-titled album in Adelaide’s premier Mixmasters Studio, mastering in Studio 301’s and recently releasing the album to sold out shows in their home state, the band is well on its way to achieving its musical aspirations. With influences drawn from such favourite artists as The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel to more recent acts Dashboard Confessional and Kings Of Convenience, The Divide blend sing-a-long melodies with catchy acoustic-driven rock and folk anthems. Be warned – these songs will stick in your head! From the rock anthem introduction Last Breath through to the catchy acoustic track Never Look Back; the album’s diversity and longevity sets it apart from the rest. Capitalising on the creativity in the studio, bass player and artist Emma Owen painted the stunning artwork for the album on canvas throughout the recording process. Experience gained from previous successful rock acts Lessie Does and Way Back When led to national tours, countless sold-out headlining shows at premier venues, national distribution, South Australian recording and marketing grants awarded, support shows for international and national acts and many more highlights. The Divide’s self-titled album (physical CD) hit stores on Aug 25th 2007 through AmpHead; digitally available through AmpHead/The Orchard.
