Dwight Adams - the man with a voice that makes women swoon, men jealous and fellow RnB & Soul singers envious is teaming up with a stellar 11-piece band for a must-see gig at The Governor Hindmarsh on Friday, February 16 - to officially launch his highly anticipated second CD Soul Master.

 

 

 

Recorded at Adelaides Broadcast Studios, mixed at Linear Recordings in Sydney and co-produced by Dwight Adams and Jonathan Sloan - Soul Master sees Adams masterfully reinterpret ten classic RnB and Soul tunes - including Please Dont Let Me Be Misunderstood (Eric Burdon), Sitting on the Dock of the Bay (Otis Redding), the perennial Stevie Wonder classic Superstition & the sublime Stubborn Kind of Fellow (Marvin Gaye).

 

 

 

I have to admit I had a brilliant time selecting the tracks for this album, says Dwight. While I had some definite front-runners all along - delving back into the rich history of this genre and revisiting all the classics to round out the ten tracks was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

 

 

 

Originally from the Big Apple (New York), Dwight made the move to Australia several years ago and has called Adelaide home since 2001. A seasoned entertainer with performance credits alongside the likes of such legendary singers as Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight and one of his heroes Marvin Gaye Dwights love affair with RnB and Soul started young and remains one of the most important relationships in his life.

 

 

 

With Soul Master, I set out to showcase what I consider to be the best that soul has to offer, Dwight says. Each track on this new album is brilliant on its own in terms of lyrics, the rhythm & the emotion it conveys. When you put them altogether, well lets just say Ill be surprised if theres any room left on that dance floor by the end of the first number!

 

 

 

Dwights seductive on-stage presence and charismatic performance style promise to take you back to a time when life really was all about the music. And with the support of an 11 piece band comprising some of Adelaides most talented musicians and singers, Motown wont be a distant memory anymore itll be right up there on stage for all to savour.
