Emily Smart is an enchanting musical storyteller with an indie-pop sensibility. Using unique melodies, driving guitar, a dash of electronic and a hint of folk to form the foundations of her music, she is accompanied by an emotional inheritance in her vocals that is simultaneously a soft whisper and a raging soul. On stage she is undeniably compelling, having lived in both Melbourne and Adelaide, and toured extensively, she is a seasoned performer with a magical stage presence that lingers with you long after you've left the venue.
Emily’s debut EP 'The Escape Plan', released in 2007, has been described as ‘beautifully crafted - with outstanding, memorable and moving lyrics’. The EP received fantastic support from radio stations around Australia including Triple J, ABC & Nova, and the song Moments Like These helped score Emily a spot as a top five finalist in the 2007 Music Oz Awards singer/songwriter category.

Emily Smart & The Clever Girls have performed in premier original music venues all over the country, including The Governor Hindmarsh, The Wheatsheaf, Jive, Manchester Lane, The Toff in Town, The Basement, The Republic Bar & Café, The Troubadour and the Brisbane Powerhouse.
Emily ‘s latest single 'All The White Horses' (Oct 2010), is currently available as a FREE download, and has received play on Triple J (Roots N' All) and RAGE!
