Can't get enough of The Honey Pies? You must go to their Bandcamp page immediately. Here you can stream their latest LP 'Carpe Carp', launching officially on Friday 16 December at Jive. You will not be disappointed. Less than a year since their last well-received release (Think of England, Jan 2011), The 'Pies are on the top of their game with a collection of  “Roy Orbison meets the Sex Pistols” tunes for your thorough enjoyment. So, so catchy.

Comprised of Jon Marco (rhythm guitar), Tony Marshall (lead guitar), Tom McCarthy-Jones (bass guitar), Marcus Warnecke (drums), The Honey Pies recorded 'Carpe Carp' with Dave Crowe (Mammoth Logic), with mixing by Jack Farley (Love of Diagrams) and mastering by Steve Rooke (The Beatles, Animal Collective, The Breeders) at 'The' Abbey Road Studios. Good choices all around!  Self described as "something a little lusher, louder, braver and weirder" than their last offering, two tracks 'Girl' and 'My O My O Me O My' have already earned them 4/5 reviews on Triple J Unearthed - by Triple Presenters, no less.

As their 'astute' bio will tell you, The Honey Pies create music " which is at once nostalgic and revelatory. Pre-post-rock, if you will." For the last three years they've played locally and nationally, supporting the likes of Tim Rogers, The Jezabels, Leader Cheetah, John Steel Singers, Eagle & The Worm, Parades, The Gin Club, Seabellies, Belles Will Ring and Oh Mercy.

At the Friday 16 December launch at Jive, where they will be ably supported by Choral Grief, Gold Bloom and The Salvadors, the band will also take on DJ duties to keep the party going long into the night. If that's not enough for you, Jon will guest on Radio Adelaide's Songcatcher program on Monday 19 December, followed by a live set by the band on the station on 23 December (details TBA). Every Monday in January you can catch an acoustic set at the Crown & Anchor, before they hit the stage in full rock form at the Adelaide Big Day Out on 3 February.

In the meantime, 'Carpe Carp' is available for stream/download at Bandcamp and you can pre-order the album to receive a digital copy of the album, launch entry and more; details here >>
