Music SA has partnered with the SA Motor Sport Board, to present Bands On Track - a feast of South Australian live music over 4 days and nights as part of the Adelaide Casino Concert Series at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide in March 2012.
Music SA has chosen 15 SA bands to compete for an opportunity to perform alongside Australia’s best live acts, opening the Clipsal 500 Concert Stage on Friday March 2, Saturday March 3 or Sunday March 4.
Shows were held at Fowler’s Live January 12, 19, and 25 to select the bands for the gig of a lifetime - performing to an audience of thousands with full concert production, backstage rider, and guest tickets thanks to Clipsal 500 Adelaide.
HEAT #3
Wednesday night Ride Into The Sun, Lady Strangelove, Hawks Of Alba, Quiet Child and Curses competed in the last final, to open the stage for Good Charlotte and The Living End on Sunday March 4.
At the end of the night, Music SA announced that the artist selected to open the Clipsal 500 Adelaide Concert Stage for Good Charlotte and The Living End on Sunday March 4 is Lady Strangelove.
Music SA General Manager Daniel Randell said “Music SA was extremely proud to host the Bands On Track finals at Fowler’s Live. Five very worthy finalists gave their all to earn a place on the Clipsal 500 Adelaide Concert Stage with Good Charlotte and The Living End on Sunday March 4. Congratulations to all the bands that performed, and congratulations to Lady Strangelove!
Fox Faehrmann, drummer from Lady Strangelove said, "We are truly stoked to be a part of this initiative - the quality of music in Adelaide at the moment is of such a high standard. Everyone in the band are all big fans of the bands we are set to support and we can't wait to play on that stage"

On 19 January, Lyla, Dexter Jones, Raider, Heston Drop and The Rules competed to open the stage for INXS on Saturday March 3.
Music SA announced that the artist selected to open the Clipsal 500 Adelaide Concert Stage for INXS on Saturday March 3 is Dexter Jones.
Matt Soang from Dexter Jones said “All the bands were amazing tonight so we’re absolutely thrilled to have been picked to open up for INXS. Thank you Music SA. Thank you Clipsal 500! We can’t wait!”

Competing on 12 January for the opportunity to open the 2012 Clipsal 500 Concert Stage for Wynter Gordon and The Potbelleez on Friday March 2 were: Squeaker, The Belle-Phonics, The Sun & The Sky, Jayne-Anne Power and Mase ‘N Mattic.
Jayne-Anne Power won the first Bands On Track final, and will now open the Adelaide Clipsal 500 Concert Stage for Wynter Gordon and The Potbelleez on Friday March 1.
Jayne-Anne Power said “It’s unbelievably exciting to be chosen for this gig, and we’re really grateful for the opportunity to perform with such high profile Australian artists. We’re really gonna bring it!”
