Adelaide pop-rock act Former Child Stars are part of an 'all-star' lineup for Coopers Alive -a new live showcase event that will take over the city on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July and will feature none less than 12 up-and-coming acts spread over 4 Adelaide venues.

The ‘Coopers Alive’ SA Live Music Showcase is a new initiative that aims to encourage local artists to actively participate in planning, promoting and evaluating their live performances, as well as providing an entertaining and creative showcase for all music-lovers to enjoy.

Former Child Stars were amongst the handpicked local acts for Coopers Alive, and have been 'ones to watch' on the SA scene lately...

After a successful run of shows and a great response at this year's Come Together Festival it seems the five young lads just can't stay away from Sydney and will be back again in July. However, this time there will be no shows, but instead the boys are super excited to be back in town to team up with Producer Scott Horscroft (Silverchair, The Presets, The Panics) on a new recording.

Discovered by Angus MacDonald and the Sneaky's crew at an overcrowded Adelaide night club late last year, Former Child Stars have been turning heads in the music industry with their energetic live performances and uncanny knack for churning out hook laden tunes as though they've been doing it for years.

Their EP will be tracked and mixed at Big Jesus Burger Studios, Surry Hills, throughout July and is expected to be released in Spring 2008.

In the meantime, you can catch them on the local stage as they headline one of the Coopers Alive showcases.

All of the Coopers Alive showcase acts selected have been making waves with their various achievements recently and they are all worthwhile checking out in the flesh. Coopers Alive promises to be the perfect opportunity to see some of the great live music that Adelaide has to offer - the only problem is deciding which shows to go and see each night...

On Friday 25 July, the Jade Monkey will host a mix of ambient, electronic, experimental and post rock sounds with Lumonics , Brother Sister and Mr Wednesday , whilst Jive will be pumping out the catchy indie rock offerings from Former Child Stars , Mad Shapes and The Shiny Brights .

You’ll be able to check out Adelaide’s very best in hip-hop and rap at the Crown & Sceptre on Saturday 26 July with A Devil Amongst The Tailors , Social Change and Shadows or you could choose to take in the laid-back folk, pop, blues and roots tunes from the Huckleberry Swedes , The Fiddle Chicks and Cookie Baker at the Wheatsheaf Hotel .

See you at the showcases!
