Gone To Earth Biography

Gone To Earth

Genre:Pop/rock

Gone To Earth started back in Aug ’98 in the confines of a sweaty rehearsal room in Adelaide, South Australia. The idea was to bash out a few of Dave’s ditty’s which he had demoed (is that a word) over the years, one of which ended up as the debut single a few months later “Mildreds Modern Way

Suddenly the band were dealing with some serious national airplay on Triple J, enough to chart well on the AIR and ARIA charts thanks to Shock Records for getting the ep “V” on shelves around the country. After some touring in the Eastern states playing our fave venues (The Basement, Hopetoun, The Espy etc) it was time to see if “Mildreds” was a one off or the start of something.

Then came the second single “Killflowers” which GTE released in early 2001, this song also received more airplay than the band dreamed of and helped us receive a nice APRA award for our efforts as an independent band trying to be heard.

The debut album is due out at the end of 2002 and the band has been lucky enough to collaborate with some great producer/engineers Chris Dickie (The Pogues, De Peche Mode…etc), Paul Gomersall (Kate Bush, George Michael…) and long time friend Kim Webster (Fruit, Goose…). The first single from the album is Fireproof …we’ve pulled out our best poses for the debut video on this one…..we even ironed our shirts.
