Genre: Funk, Rock
‘With duelling guitars and groovy basslines, Grubenstyle is what might have happened if The Cruel Sea had been members of The Family Stone. The result is energetic yet laid back; casual yet stylish.’

With a name based in Maltese legend, Grubenstyle's inception arose from appropriately obscure circumstances. Having blindly followed the social directive to pursue tertiary study and get a real job, the members of Grubenstyle came to the end of their respective paths and found themselves yearning for something more exciting, something more instinctive, something more...primal.
The Grubenstyle movement has been gaining steady momentum around their hometown of Adelaide since they burst on the live scene in 2007 (though the individual members have been jamming together since 2004). Now, having professionally recorded a sample of their electric setlist, these Monsters of Funk-Rock are looking to expand out and bring their genre-busting sound to a wider audience.
‘The concept of "funk" has been devalued, too frequently and loosely bandied about as a buzzword. Refreshingly, Grubenstyle recalls and invokes its true roots, their funk-rock infusion inviting audiences to surrender to their innate urges and join the celebration of uninhibited humanity!’
