Heston Drop
"Heston Drop" began as a cover band by the name of "The Royal Scam" in the middle of 2008. They played rock and pop covers at venues such as The Gov in support acts as well as community festivals in 2009 and backed it up in 2010 and 2011 as Heston Drop.
Band members are JP lead vocal and guitar, Michael lead guitar and back up vocal, Daniel bass guitar and Teon drums and back up vocal.
Since then, the band has evolved and creating their own music, writing and recording originals. A highlight of this was in 2011 when JP entered Shining Light, Calling and One Way Street in the APRA Professional Development Awards which saw them make e the finals which was attended by JP in Sydney. Heston Drop plays the occasional cover, with a Heston Drop Flavour.
This sees Heston Drop perform at music venues such as The Gov, The Cavern Club, The Magill Club, The House of Sap, Cranka, Higher Ground, The Ed, Duke of York, Rhino Room, Metro, Uni Bar and more to come.
With varying and dynamic sounding songs infusing rock, blues and funk together Heston Drop have also played in Melbourne and Sydney venues when selected to play on the Scorcher Fest Festival line-up in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney. 2011 also saw Heston Drop Support Sydney and Sony Music signed band SYNDICATE at the Gov as part of their National Album launch tour.
2011 also saw Heston Drop win Global Battle of The Bands South Australia Regional
finals and will represent South Australia in the National finals in early 2012. Also Shining Light was selected and appeared on compilation CD Radelaide 2011.
With all this Heston Drop is poised to take on whatever the Adelaide and Australian Rock scene have to offer it.
Heston Drop is up and coming and have much to showcase, and are not to be missed.
