Imminent Psychosis was originally formed by Leo, Greg and Robbo in early August 2002, with bassist Damo entering in December 2002. The initial drummer Darryl began in September 2002, however conflicting styles resulted in the introduction of Justin in March 2003. The since steady line-up have been ripping up the top metal pubs all over Adelaide and are ready to breakout into the Eastern states.

The bands influences came from an array of metal artist, from old school thrashers Slayer, Megadeth and Sepultura, to riff-based rockers Black Sabbath, Metallica and Pantera, to extreme Aussie metal acts such as Psycroptic, Blood Duster and Damaged. However, Imminent Psychosis greatest talent lies in their ability to combine all these influences to create a style of music unique to the metal genre.

The band played their first gig in February 2003, and has played over a dozen gigs since. Supporting some of Australias best metal acts, including Psycroptic, Alarum, Pathogen and Omnium Gatherum, Imminent Psychosis will embark on their inaugural tour to Melbourne in February 2005.

The debut full-length self-titled album was recorded in April over three days at House of SAP in Adelaide. The independent release was launched in Adelaide on September 11, and has since reached #1 on the Powersurge Top 10 metal charts, and was selected as Feature release of the week on 3D radio in October.
