Jayne-Anne Power
Genre:Pop, Soul
As a live act, Jayne-Anne Power is hard to beat. Original, smart songs with infectious rhythm - plus Jayne-Anne’s whopping voice - make this band a pleaser for both a listening and a dancing audience.
Her Power packed performances justify her reputation as an Australian act to watch.
Her musicians are some of the best in the business. Hailing from the jazz world, they have all found salvation in soul music, with the dance floor as their new heartland. The result? World class, quality music with a fresh edge and a beat you just can’t argue with.
With two self-penned albums under her belt, a Musicoz award for best RnB artist, her original songs placed in TV shows, her voice on commercials, supports for acts such as Tina Arena and Vanessa Amorossi and festival performances across the country, this glamazon has got the goods.
As well as snagging major supports for The Potbelleez and Wynter Gordon on the Clipsal 500 main stage, Tina Arena at Thebarton Theatre and Renee Geyer at The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel, she’s graced venues across the country such as the The Opera Bar in Sydney, the Corner Hotel in Melbourne and The Gov in Adelaide.
Despite her reputation as a singing-songwriting soul diva, Jayne-Anne Power continues to reinvent herself and her sound.
Projects with producers Lunabass (ADL) and Primary Colour (MEL) have generated fresh club tracks that appeared on Channel 7’s “The Block” in 2011 and resulted in an LA House record deal in 2012.
Collaborations with dance crossover act, The Levitators, have resulted in JJJ airplay and performances at the Adelaide Fringe Opening in front of 10,000 people.
But the stage is where she is most at home. Whether she is supporting acts like Vanessa Amorossi or headlining the Adelaide Fashion Festival, her magnetic and powerful performances draw the crowd and make them move.
Her third album “The Analogue Sessions” features soul tracks and remixes recorded straight to vintage 4 track tape and will be released on vinyl on April 14, 2012 at The Promethean.
EP Launch - The Analogue Sessions
Jayne-Anne Power is set to release her third album “The Analogue Sessions”. The EP captures her unique blend of Pop, Soul and Funk on four-track tape - just as the Soul artists who inspired her would have done. Two remixes were added and the result is a seamless blend of retro and now, released on CD and as limited release on vinyl.
As a show, expect high energy beats with a slice of old soul grooves and soaring vocals from Jayne-Anne and her backing vocalists.
Jayne-Anne has also teamed up with producer extraordinaire Lunabass to create house tracks that have the international industry talking. These tracks will also be launched on the night, along with the man himself.
Premier DJ, Troy J Been, will be there to keep the beats rolling all night!
