JIGSAW - BIOGRAPHY

JIGSAW use their capturing performance to attract the attention of
any audience. The 5 piece Jazz band is entertaining and fun,
showcasing new work and fresh musical ideas. Jigsaw represents a
culmination of five of Darwin's most experienced most diverse
musicians, all of whom are heavily involved in the N.T. music
community, whether it be the Darwin Symphony Orchestra, Arts NT or
various bands. With their hectic schedules, the members see JIGSAW
as an opportunity for musical expression without boundaries.
 
INFLUENCES
Jigsaw's members are passionate about music and draw on a wide
variety of influences when writing ad performing. From salsa
rhythms of the guajira, to jazz, blues fusion. The original songs in Jigsaw
are intended to be funky and fun whilst also having a musical
integrity. For special occasions Jigsaw perform jazz standards.
Having Formed in early 2004 Jigsaw have been consistently active in
the Darwin music scene. With the launch of their CD, Live Jazz, to
3000 people at the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets; Jigsaw have widened
their scope, and are looking forward to recording a studio album in
2005.

THE MEMBERS
Jack Tinapple Vocals, Flute, Harmonica
With 15 years perfoming experience, and front man of JIGSAW and
hold command of a crowd
 
Mark Bleakley Trumpet, Piano
Studied Jazz at the Australian National University and is a key
Trumpet Player of the DSO and impro guru
 
Shannon Haritos Double Bass
With both Guitar and bass experience in numerous bands, Haritos
brings to JIGSAW what is almost undefinable: ‘the groove' and she
can really pump out fat sounds
 
Ben Bates Guitar
The funky Mr. Potato Head of the band, Ben can play a mean groove,
recently graduating with a Batchelor of music Ben is more than
qualified to kick out the jam.
 
Aleks Pusz Drums and Percussion
With 13 years of experience in a ludicrous variety of Bands and
Music composition and performance projects, Aleks is the Percussion
lecturer at CDU and a Percussionist for the DSO
