Quantcast

His debut album The Children of the Stoned Age brought together 10 songs speaking of musical influences from legends of the 70’s with a modern twist of roots and folk.

Music SA wrote: “The tracks ‘The Illusion’ and ‘Movin Up’ are the real standouts for me on this release. ‘The Illusion’ suits Joe Man’s voice perfectly and the whole song has a decidedly Nashville feel to it.”

Since arriving on Australian shores Joe Man’s musical style has expanded its horizons and travelled through South Eastern Australia playing with and supporting some of Australia’s finest guitarists: Daniel Champagne, Cal Williams Jnr and Vorn Doolette, to name a few.

Brought up on a concoction of The Doors, Fusion and Gypsy Jazz, Joe Man’s guitar skills are unique to say the least. The audience is taken on a journey from soulful ballads, through foot stomping songs of revolution with poignant lyrics that strikes a chord with young and old.

Consequently, its Joe Man’s live shows that that define his music. Equipped with a microphone, guitar and foot drum audiences are constantly surprised to find this is a solo act. The songs build and captivate before exploding into a crescendo of melody both in lyric and tune.

Fresh from performances at the 2012 Adelaide Fringe Festival, 2011 Semaphore Music Festival and the release of his first album, Joe Man’s music is spreading throughout the community and with more interstate festivals coming up it’s fair to say we will be seeing a lot more of this travelling Irish modern day troubadour.
