Genre: Pop/rock Theres only so much you can do in Adelaide. But for those in the know, Adelaide is a fertile breeding ground for undiscovered rock and one of the bands doing the hard yards away from the spotlight is KASAVETT (formally known as Everest) - that, however, is all about to change. The core of KASAVETT is Dan (vox/guitar), Phil (bass/vox), Silvano (drums), and together theyve developed an energetic rock sound that has been impressing punters around the country. Formed at the beginning of 2003, the boys wasted no time in pushing their take on alternative rock in front of peoples faces - and for a band that hadnt been around long, managed to play some awesome rocking shows with the likes of Spiderbait, Frenzal Rhomb and Dallas Crane. The 2004 Panic Attack EP helped to kick things up a notch as well, with live fave Anode getting a spin on Triple Js Home and Hosed with Robbie Buck, while She Lights Me was picked up and placed on rotation by UK station Pulse FM and Leave it to me getting heavy play on a number of regional Oz stations 2005 has been a massive year for the KASAVETT crew, playing to thousands people and sharing stages with Shihad, Grinspoon, Rocket Science, Killing Heidi, Thirsty Merc, The Mess Hall, Betchadupa, The Cants and the Spazzys, as well as top Adelaide band the Hot Lies - and KASAVETT have done it the hard way, hitting the country and playing gigs from Cummins on the South Oz Eyre Peninsula to Nimbin and Bryon Bay, Wodonga, Warrnambool, Geelong and Melbourne. Is there another unsigned band in Adelaide that works as hard as KASAVETT? No freaking way! With a new EP on the way and a stack of hard rocking shows to come, it seems unlikely that you wont know who KASAVETT are for much longer! ____________________________________________________ See MusicSA's FUSE on Stage Feature Article: click here
