When you grow up with your father playing jovial polka tunes on a piano accordian into the early hours of the morning its easy to see why Kelly Breuer’s style of Folk Rock blends many a genre. Previously of local Folk/Rock four piece “The Fridays” she heads into solo mode in 2012 with a new trio, a new EP in the works for an August release and a new sound reminiscent of Norah Jones fronting Boy and Bear singing Jack Johnson tunes and is slowly making waves with a sound that has been described as “music’s answer to a cup of tea” and “Nice with a capital N” and the perfect antidote to a stressful week of work. Since becoming active in February she’s already released a demo EP which has sold 100 copies and toured QLD with Rokeby Venus as well as finishing recording her debut EP at Northern Sound System with producer Ross Read. The single “Smile…It’s Free” will be available for digital download from June along with a full East Coast tour in September.
