With a wide range of musical tastes and backgrounds, Laconica shows no limitations with their writing ability and style. Starting in early 2010 without a singer, Guitarist Reece Grant, Bassist Marc Webb and Drummer Shannon Emanuel began writing heavy but melodic tracks, attempting to break the mold of today's boring repetitive pop rock.
Vocals were a harder position to fill, with Reece, Marc and Shannon playing together for almost a full year, but after numerous failed auditions and false starts, they finally found Lisa Redman in March 2011. And what a find! Lisa brings with her those same elements that made the music writing both unique and catchy, with strong vocals and complimentary melodies.
With their debut gig on 11th of June 2011, almost a year and a half after forming, Laconica are set to take the Adelaide music scene by storm, mixing up the dross and injecting the city with some truly original music.
