Little Black Dress Biography

Little Black Dress

Genre: Acoustic, Pop, Rock

Little Black Dress have 11 years of live gigs behind them, playing happy fun music. As happy wine-appreciating residents of the Barossa Valley, the band has a fluid line-up with a core of vocal harmonies, guitar and sax. The extended Little Black Dress family includes bass, drums and percussion.

The Little Black Dress catalogue of songs is quirky and bouncy, with a few power ballads and pop tunes, where the riff will stay in your head long after the gig. This is the band where the songwriting is prolific and serious but the songs are happy, snappy and done with style and that certain “je ne sais quoi”…but I like it!.

There is always a cover or 2 in the set list, maybe some Peggy Lee or Van Morrison, possibly some Blink 182 or a bit of 60s trash.

Previous releases have featured the acapella-based cassette "Little Black Dress”, an EP “Annette’s Gift” and cds “Look At That Guy” and Belly Swimming”

The band have packed them in at Caos for 4 consecutive Adelaide Fringe Festivals and play live around the Barossa and Adelaide Hills at some top venues like the Tanunda Club, Junipers, Totness Hotel, the Mannum Club and the irrepressible Grumpys. Like their heroes Fruit, Special Patrol, Goose and Vincent’s Chair, Little Black Dress revell in the live venues of South Australia where we can all laugh, sing, drink, eat play and enjoy ourselves.

The band plays emotional and fun-filled music, where the heart and soul of the gig is getting a kick out of being so damned lucky to be out there and playing!
