Mary Webb
Genre:Acoustic, Folk, Roots
Mary Webb is a young singer-songwriter quietening pub crowds all over Adelaide. Her lusciously true voice has even the most raucous crowds stop to listen, and when they do, they hear wisdom and feeling flow through her carefully crafted songs. With a background in classical and choral music, she is passionate about quality song-craft and has an ear for melody and harmony that go well beyond the boundaries of popular music genres. She began playing the guitar in 2003 so she could accompany herself and perform her own songs. In the years since, she has developed a unique style, and has matured into a souful performer. Late in 2008 she was spotted at the Grace Emily by Pete Murray who immediately offered use of his studio, so she began recording some songs there in January 2009. These were finished off at Timms Tunes with Sean Timms a short time later and are the demo tracks you can hear online. Mary is currently studying Sound Production at SAE and is recording an EP which she hopes to release in the not too distant future, but for now you can hear her demo songs and see when she has gigs on www.myspace.com/marywebbsings. Mary often plays with her brother Jonathan on cello, the perfect instrument to complement her music.
