musicSA.com.au 'featured artist' in June/July 2006, Mayfield are a three piece alternative rock band from Adelaide, South Australia.

Just as Generation 'X' got tired, gave up, and got day-jobs, Mayfield took an oath to start a musical revolution against 'mainstream' thinking.

Mayfield are an alternative rock band from Adelaide, South Australia formed in 2004. They have forged their own sound through their varied influences and controversial social views.
The philosophy and corner stone of Mayfield is part grunge rejectionism, part hippie ideal, part project mayhem but wholly its own. Mayfield speak of a generation robbed, a generation lied to, a generation out of faith.

Its time to wake up.

Since their inception, Mayfield have released 2 EPs; 2005's 'To whom it may concern' and the 2006 self titled follow-up; 'Mayfield' recorded at Sydneys acclaimed 'velvet sound studios' which has been home to 'The vines', 'Wolfmother' and 'Grinspoon' just to name a few. 2007 saw the release of 'Live at the foundry'  recorded in the UK on their recent tour of the UK and Europe.

The three men, all in their early twenties, fueled by a hatred of conformity, made a pact: to perform raw, pure and hypnotic music as a call to arms for people of all walks of life to come together and stand up against the corrupt society we live in, and to challenge its manufactured ideals and disposable heroes.

Mayfield's core and true strength is revealed at their live shows. The band has toured Australia extensively and in addition to this
They have recently completed their first tour of the UK and Europe. On this tour they played sold out shows at the world famous
Kaiserkeller in Hamburg, Germany and the legendary Fogfest in Belgium.

Since their inception Mayfield have been an internationally focused band and to that end they are getting geared up for their first US tour in late April of '08. This will be followed by their much their much anticipated return to the UK and Europe in August of '08.
