Mayqueen, Adelaide melodic hard rock that will melt your face in to the middle of next week by means of soaring, punchy vocals backed by meaty, savage riffs and solo's composed of pure flame, in combination with the pure, tangible energy and overwhelming sense of enjoyment that radiates from the stage wherever they may go.
With influences such as the mighty Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Hendrix, Audioslave, Soundgarden, Jet, Powderfinger and The Foo Fighters, Mayqueen strives to bring rock back in to the ears of their generation.

Mayqueens current line up came to fruition in 2009.
This year saw the bands first release "Gotta get out," (Independent release, available for purchase at shows and selected record stores) after gaining their chops gigging a large percentage of Adelaide venues, leaving many a bar soaked with sweat and beer.
Their debut single, the title track from the EP was played on Triple M in Melbourne and Sydney 5 nights in a row as a part of Radar Radio's unsigned segment on the stations request show, hosted by Ugly Phil.
To top off a great year, Mayqueen placed 2nd in the Local and Live Band Competition held at the Bull & Bear, battling against 31 other local Adelaide bands. As a result they won a two track recording deal at Sody Pop Studios, with both tracks to be produced by Alex Tomlin.
2010 saw Mayqueen achieve just as much. In March they headlined Carclew's Off the Couch Rock Show at Jive in front of a packed crowd. They were voted best act for the evening, and were awarded a free day of recording at Fattrax Studio as a result. They also managed to again achieve a second placing in the 2010 Local and Live competition. This set in motion the writing and recording of their 2 part sophomore EP, which is yet to be released.
With plans to take their face melting shenanigans interstate in mid 2011, Mayqueen are set to continue walking the path, with ever growing success, that will hopefully one day cement them a place as one of Australia's great live acts.
