The Oscillators
Genre:, Electronica
Once upon a time in a land far, far away, lived a boy named Arne. Arne was a punk rocker from way back, fronting many a band in this genre over the years. Knowing only of punk, Arne believed that this musical style would set him free.
One night in early 2009 however, something strange happened. It was a warm summer night when Arne was awoken from his sleep by a bright light shining through his window. As he half sat up and started to rub his eyes he began to hear a voice; “Arne, I know you think punk is for you, but it’s time you let go! Learn to make electronic music!” “Electro!” Arne exclaimed, “That sounds hard, I don’t know if I can?” “But of course you can Arne…Arne….Arne….” As the echo of his name faded off into the distance, Arne fell back into a deep sleep.
When he awoke the next day, he was so mesmerised by the experience of the night before (and who wouldn’t be?!), he got out his synthesizer and laptop, tied himself to a chair in a windowless cell and began his journey into the unknown….the land of electro.
Oblivious to the adventures that had begun to unfold in this far away land, lived a girl by the name of Nereeda. She had fronted many a band herself and was known for being quite the rock chic. One Sunday morning, as Nereeda scrolled through her messages on myspace, she came across a strange message. It was a message from a guy who had tied himself to a chair in a windowless cell asking her to follow his calling into the world of electronic music. Nereeda need only read the email once and without need for any explanation just knew that this was to be her calling too. “Count me in!” she replied.
But Arne was not done recruiting yet, he wanted one more person to join him on his mission. Still early 2009, a boy with a gift for the keys received a call. Mark (soon to be better known as Mo-Nizzle), couldn’t believe his ears when the guy tied to a chair called him. “Are you kidding, that same thing happened to me the other night too! I would be crazy not to do this. I know what I have to do.”
And so, with some rope, an email, a phone call and some really bright light, The Oscillators were born…
