Richie Robinson
Genre:Acoustic, Blues, Jazz, Soul
Richie Robinson got his first guitar at the age of eight, as a gift from a friend. It only had two strings on it, but he made the most of it, as he has done ever since. By the age of fourteen, he had spent almost two years living on the street; performing, writing songs, studying music, and learning tricks of the trade from some of the country's top professional buskers.
This helped to shape his attitude towards the entertainment and music business, and would later turn him into one of the most employed guitarists in the country....
Now with local, national, and international awards for his songwriting, Richie is still in strong demand for his live skills & has jammed with Mowtown greats such as Nathan Watts, and Australian players such as James & John Morrison.
As well as being a working live player all his life, much of Richie's spare time is spent working as writer/producer from his custom built studio at home. He has worked with various acts around Australia and overseas. Recently he has done remix trax for Rusty Anderson, guitarist with the Paul McCartney Band, and various other remix and production work for new and established artists in Australia and abroad.
Richie has played many thousands of gigs, spending as much as 40 hours a week on stage on a regular basis. His live presence and passion for the guitar has brought joy to many. His sheer love of the instrument has taken him to the core of many styles, approaching each with the emotion and flair for entertainment that has made him such a respected player.
It is said that between Richie's imagination, and his sense of adventure, he is constantly walking exploraratory ground, and changing peoples' musical expectations thru his playing and productions.
