Genre:Alt. Country, Pop, Rock

The Rustlers formed in 2001 with the release of the 'Broken Pieces' CD launched at the Riverland Music Festival, Barmera. As well as being regular performers at Barmera, The Rustlers have performed at numerous festivals including Port Pirie (with Troy Cassar-Daley), Tailem Bend, closing the SA Showcase in Tamworth N.S.W., a live performence on Channel Seven Adelaide, playing to over 50,000 people during the 2004 Royal Adelaide Show, supporting Russell Morris, Darryl Cotton & Jim Keays in late 2005 and playing at the 2006 Clipsal 500 After Race Concert to a crowd of 40,000.

The Rustlers are regularly honing their live performance skills, with Gary Burrows - vocals/acoustic guitar, John Murphy - lead guitar/vocals, Robert Candeloro - guitar/violin/accordion/ harmonica/banjo/ vocals, Garry Cailes – drums/vocals and Derek Manning – bass guitar/vocals. The Rustlers are always adding to their burgeoning catalogue of original music with four-part harmony and an array of instruments that provide a rich, upbeat presentation of unique country/pop, in a way that only The Rustlers can!

Apart from being musically proficient, the individual members have rather contrasting personalities which makes for a lot of fun onstage. Footstomping, dancing, whistling, and screaming are a common occurrence at their performances by audiences exhibiting symptoms of what some people have described as “rustler-mania”.

Not since the early sixties have such songs been penned - sing a long lyrics, catchy riffs, raucous harmonies and unforgettable melodies. The songs can soar with the energy of a wild stallion or steal your heart away with their raw honesty.

The Rustlers proved this again in June 2006 with the release of their second album, “Sad Dark Lies”, a batch of fourteen original new songs, just as exciting and toe-tapping as their first offering.
