Shot in Paris |
:: |
Genre:
Not many bands can boast a sound that appeals to a wide audience with various tastes. But this is exactly what Shot In Paris have been able to do since their inception in 2006. With a melodic laced brutality that seems to rival no one, Shot In Paris have managed to WOW Adelaide audiences time after time, yet have remained reasonably unnoticed by industry and scene heavyweights. With mainstream acknowledgement not one of their main goals, Shot In Paris are more than willing to go it alone, with the rest of Australia clear in their sights.
The band wasted no time in travelling to Melbourne to record their debut EP "The Lines That Divide Us" at Complex Studios with The Red Shore’s Roman Koester. Having worked with such bands as Carpathian, Black Like Vengeance & Deez Nuts, the choice was simple, and the quality was second to none. Armed with a powerful and dynamic product, Shot In Paris released their EP to a near capacity crowd at The Enigma Bar in January 08.
Since then they have sold countless copies, exceeded their own goals in terms of merchandise sales, and continue to bring a unique energetic on stage performance time after time. The time is now approaching for Shot In Paris to strap on the swags and head interstate, by popular demand, to share their sound with the rest of the country. "It's something we have always aimed to achieve, and with so much support from people around the country, there seems like no better time than now..." The band plans to head out on their first east coast tour in November 2008, a tour they believe will assist them in getting the recognition they have someone escaped in their home town.
Shot In Paris are currently writing and rehearsing new material to showcase on tour and for their debut full length album, as they head into the studio once again in early 2009. It already seems that a more mature, diverse and experimental Shot In Paris will come to fruition with the completion of their new material, and the lines that divide them will continue to grow stronger by the day.
