1996, a small stage in an upstairs bar with an electric atmoshphere, an unknown talen takes the stage with an acoustic guitar and a voice fuelled with power and emotion.
Simon Peter having played in and around the Adelaide circuit for over a decade has with his soulful songs of a folk/rock flavour and lyrics that command the attention of the audience that can leave hearts on strings like puppets and rooms as silent and devoted to the stage as to hear a pin drop.
The SimonPeter band comprise Simon Peter on vocals/guitar, Sarah on violin/cello & backup vocals (plus she shakes a mean egg) and Craig on percussion (cajon and djembe), mandolin and didgeridoo.
SP, Sarah and Craig came together in January 2008 to share their love of emotive acoustic songs crafted and played with a passionate embrace of lifes journey that shapes how we view the world and the small part we play under its canvas of light and dark.
Their debut 9 track cd showcasing some of SP's amazing songwriting and story telling with the bands unique alternative folk rock sound is close to completion and schedulled for release in mid to late 2009. stay tuned for more details on the impending CD Launch!!!
The Simon Peter band have been gigging with other friends at our favourite venues such as Grace Emily, Higher Ground, The Wheatsheaf, Worlds End and Prince Albert. With some recent memorable supports for acts such as Carus Thompson and Jez Mead, this trio is quickly developing a sound following and are always up to increase the circle of friends and share a coopers.
