Soursob Bob |
:: |
Genre: Folk, Comedy, Acoustic
Soursob Bob is an original songwriter and folk musician from Adelaide. His music is an accomplished take on folk, with a definite Australian slant. Nothing is sacred in Soursob's world. As he puts spin on everyday and unusual occurrences. His lyrical content is exceptionally sharp, satirical and politically provocative. His delivery is dead-pan and can be very funny.
Soursob Bob performs solo with his guitar in the folk singer songwriter tradition, and also performs and records with other fine musicians. Over the years these have included pianist Linton Johnston, Jon Van Bowman on guitar, Bridget McDowall (Colcannon, ex Fiddle Chicks) on violin , drummer Mark Meyer, Emma Luker (Fiddle Chicks, ex Colcannon) on violin, and Elizabeth Vale on cello.
He has released six full length albums and numerous demos. The albums so far are "Living in the Long Grass" , "You don't make me feel Special anymore" ,"Beer for Breakfast" , "Don't quit your day job","Someplace Good Already" and "Live at the Wheatty".
Soursob Bob cds are available at Big Star records in Adelaide, and online from the Trad and Now, and Indie Cds catalogues.

"Soursob Bob is special and he's got something to say...This fourth full length album shows Bob motoring along at the peak of his incisive power.. he cleverly weaves in plenty of brave politics.Employing complex and quirky rhyming schemes, Bob frequently goes where no writer has gone before."
Andrew Bunney , reviewing "Don't quit your day job" in Db Magazine
