Southpoor Biography Southpoor
Genre: Alt. Country, Rock
Jad Green first met Justin Garner in a rowdy jam above Midwest Trader in Adelaide when Justin was on tour there with Nikka Costa. The two talked music and found that they dug the same stuff, Southern Rock, Country and good old rock. Jad played drums (and still does) with rockabilly band the Satellites. He in turn grabbed his band mate Bill to flesh out the sound with some loud guitar.
After many bassplayers the right formula was struck on when Stuart Rudd jumped off the Superjesus juggernaut.
After a demo was passed to Mick Wordley owner of Mixmasters studio and record label a deal was struck to record and unleash Southpoor's debut release. This is a recording made the old fashioned way, live with minimum overdubs under the guidance of Mick Wordley, engineer Evan James and Australian Rock legend Nick Barker.
What Doesn't Kill Ya is out now.
Southpoor have shared stages with Tim Rogers, Nick Barker, Jimmy Barnes, You Am I, Spencer P Jones, The Superjesus.
