The Sundance Kids
Genre: Acoustic, Pop, Rock
Growing up on a farm in rural South Australia carried very few privileges for vocal front-man and guitarist Ash Gale. However, in retrospect, the shortage of traffic, people and big city lights gave him two privileges he wouldn't trade for the world: time and space. Time, to process his extraordinary songwriting abilities; and space, to sing as loud – and as passionately – as he possibly could.
After teaming up with the melodic acoustic guitarist/vocalist Jason Shepherd, the boys joined forces with Luke Zecchin, a self-confessed guitar connoisseur with a strong background in jazz. The partnership made between these three friends was natural, but the sound they created musically was nothing like they had experienced before.
As a result, the songs of 'The Sundance Kids' are powerful Acoustic/pop/rock anthems that declare their hand-on-heart statements of devotion, while simultaneously revealing their heart-on-sleeve confessions. Although Ash's poetic lyrics categorically fall somewhere between spiritualism and romanticism, the thick richness of his vocals give the songs an epic sincerity likened to acts such as U2 and The Frames. In spite of their acoustic grounding, even the most conservative listener can't help but absorb the unique rocking intensity and find their fist thrown in the air.
After laying down several early songs to tape, The Sundance Kids quickly gained regular airplay and, coupled with a solid string of live shows, gained an unprecedented following. Before re-entering the studio to track their newest offering, the ‘Kids’ recruited Suresh Meyer, the powerhouse drummer behind 'Edison Music', and Jeremy Wright, 'Thinktank's solid bass player with musicality to burn.
In 2007 The Sundance Kids released their EP "Including The Atmosphere" to a sold out room at The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel. Months later they signed a management deal with Peppermint Blue Management (The Rougue Traders, Amy Pearson, Anthony Callea)
In 2008 they set to record their debut album and tour nationally.
