Vorn Doolette Biography

Vorn Doolette

Genre: Acoustic, Folk

Australian Troubadour Vorn Doolette is setting the benchmark for a new generation of folk artists.

'Vorn Doolette has a bit of the Arlo Guthries about him, weaving elaborate and amusing stories into a quirky folkie tapestry. A bold and entertaining performer' - (Faster Louder), Vorn delivers a performance that allows his audience to unwittingly join him on a journey of profound emotion.

The honesty expressed through his music is uncompromising and the subject matter broad; ranging from warrior mice and alien killing machines to the depth of sadness experienced by one with a broken heart. Armed with an acoustic guitar, Vorn uses his chocolaty voice to lure the audience in close, making them even more vulnerable to his raw emotion and shocking wit. As such, it is no wonder that this young troubadour is capturing the attention of audiences where ever he graces the stage.

Based in South Australia, this "original talent" (Peter Goers, Sunday Mail) performs captivating, intimate and often eccentric live shows, which have made him a popular act on the Australian music festival scene. Playing to packed crowds at Woodford, the National and Blue Mountains Folk Festivals with his former band, One Night Jam as well as supporting a variety of musicians including Lior, Symbiosis, Loren, Mihirangi and Old Man River as a solo act, Vorn is due to hit the road with Nicky Bomba for the 'Jah In The Moment' national tour in July.

Vorn is an emerging talent with a treat to offer an audience looking for something different and refreshingly impressive.

"Vorn Doolette is a young man whose talent is going to take him around the world, his voice and presence are captivating, an absolutely gorgeous voice and a genuine artist, one that isn't afraid of allowing you to see his essence" (Mihirangi, Musician).

"An arrestingly accomplished and interesting singer/songwriter" Samela Harris, The Advertiser

"With his compelling voice and canny, often humorous lyrics, Vorn was a standout amongst the hundreds of musicians who performed for Radio Adelaide's Live Music Fest." Jane Costessi, Radio Adelaide Music Coordinator 2006
