About AbbeyHowlett

Abbey Howlett is a unique and powerful songwriter. Her intuitive live performances are reflective of her connection to the sonic landscape she grew up with in the Adelaide Hills wilderness. Abbey layers soulful vocals and vintage guitar tones over synthesisers and hip hop style beats using a loop pedal and effects, building each song entirely from scratch. Her smooth, neo-soul sound is driven by conscious lyrics of social justice and planetary awareness delivered with the perfect mix of raw, live instrumentation and crisp electronic sounds. After completing a three year Advanced Diploma of Contemporary music, majoring in Voice in 2012, Abbey soon became a sought after vocalist performing with, and featuring on various bands albums including; Laura Hill, Mike Stewart Big Band, Dialect and Despair, Irie Knights and God God Dammit Dammit, whilst also successfully managing her own original projects Abbey and The Bad Habits and now Golden Realm. As a musician Abbey Howlett has gained much respect within South Australia’s arts industry, performed all over the state and featured in festivals such as the Blenheim Festival, ScumFest and Telltale and Vine festival, both solo and with her band Golden Realm. Along with Golden Realm, Howlett released her debut E.P. Collectively in 2014 with a sold out Adelaide Fringe event. Since then she has been busy with local shows, national tours, exciting collaborations and creating her next release set to drop late 2015.
