Dilettantes

Serving up a semi-fresh bain marie of sounds paying homage to the late 90’s/early 2000’s alternative rock scene in Australia, but also drawing strong inspiration from post-hardcore glooms and walls of atmospheric reverb soundscapes, Adelaide’s Dilettantes (Dil – a – tonts) have been a frequenter in CBD’s dive bars and classic venues for the better part of a decade.

A strange but common evolution in music, the trio have been operating from an uproot of punk/rock energy changing altitude to a new height of big riffs, heavy handed simplicity that continues to explore and confuse sub-genres. 

Dilettantes have independently released two EP’s – ‘Home’ in 2017, and ‘Everything is not Beautiful’ in early 2023 found on all streaming platforms and of course Bandcamp.
