Adelaide based musicians Elian Hamilton and Simon Ielasi (rounded out with Aaron Lawrence in the live setup) are the architects behind alternative rock act, The Unset. They let the influence of post-rock music seep into their songs, and then delicately drip ethereal guitar scenery in, to construct songs that ascends and crumbles effortlessly. A skyscraper of sound is created by loop and noise pedals to make way for an alluring, minimalist soundscape within a few bars, leaving the audience with a unique visceral experience.

Off the back of winning ‘Best Song’ at the national Captured Australia competition, The Unset released their debut EP Polymer and came forth as a must-see act across Adelaide in 2016. The Unset have shared the stage with Sleepmakeswaves, Caligula’s Horse, Orsome Welles, Greenthief and have also supported international act Blien Vesne (Argentina).

2018 sees the release of their standalone single Hunter with a second EP currently in the works.

“Adelaide has a lot of fresh talent rising lately, and The Unset is no exception…” – TEO magazine.
