The 'Coopers Alive' SA Live Music Showcase is a new initiative that aims to encourage local artists to actively participate in planning, promoting and evaluating their live performances, as well as providing an entertaining and creative showcase for all music-lovers to enjoy. The Coopers Alive events will take over the city on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July and will feature none less than 12 handpicked local up-and-coming acts spread over 4 Adelaide venues.

SCALA (Songwriters, Composers And Lyricists Association) is holding a special benefit night of live music on 5th July to raise funds for Samuel Shepherdson, the young baby of award winning singer-songwriter and freelance journalist Catherine Blanch, who was born with two holes in his heart. All proceeds will help Samuel's family pay for medical expenses, travel and accommodation for upcoming surgery in Melbourne.

Adelaide Festival Centre is pleased to announce its program for the 2008 OzAsia Festival, which will run from 14 - 28 September. The program includes an eclectic mix of music, dance, theatre, visual art, food and free events, involving a wide variety of Australian and Asian artists and a number of Australian premieres. The Semaphore Music Festival 2007 showcases SA Live Music acts in an ideal seaside setting giving audiences the opportunity to see original singer songwriters on the verge of national success. The Festival will be held over the Labour Day Long Weekend, 28 September to 1 October, and includes a free outdoor concert on the Semaphore Reserve on Monday 1st October at 12.00 noon.

The Salon is a new concept of performance for Urban Myth Theatre of Youth. Essentially it is an open mic for youth, performed by youth and run by youth. Promoting South Australia has been a major influence in the success of Sarahs Caf, & they are having a whole month (& then some) of celebrations.

On Thursday 17th of May 2007, South Australian jazz pianist Ritsuko lost her brave battle against cancer and the Australian Music Industry, in particular the jazz community, lost a great composer and fellow musician. To help fulfill Ritusko's wish to support other musicians in similar circumstances through Support Act Limited, a group of South Australias top jazz bands and musicians have come together to present the show Jazz & Jamm a tribute to Ritsuko at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Sunday 12th of August.

Night Live is a music documentary that screens every Sunday night at 9:30pm and Tuesdays at 10:30pm on C31. The show looks in depth at the local live music scene in Adelaide, and features interviews, live sets, recordings, and behind the scenes footage of some of the prominent local bands, as well as the best new up-and-coming young talent.

Behind the scenes 2007 has been 1 of the busiest & most exciting years for local music TV show AWESAM TV, with the evolution of a strong fresh production crew who have been architecting an exciting new direction for the program.Theyre itching to go & ready to flaunt it, but just need a few pennies to ignite the fuse! Will Emergenza take SA to the world stage? Time for Adelaide bands to stand up and be counted! There are band competitions, and then there is Emergenza - a battle of the bands that could take one lucky SA act all the way to Germany.

For all those who are not familiar with the G3, it is an American rock guitar show that is comprised of primarily two guitarists, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, and with the inclusion of Yngwie Malmsteen as the third player. The G3 continues to tour the US, Europe, and Japan with immense success.

You may have attended the recent Make Poverty History show at Wayville Showgrounds - well now a slew of local acts are taking matters into their own hands to support the campaign, with an all new show at West Beach Shores Complex on Sat 21 July.

The Adelaide Festival Centre is currently running a free afternoon music program called 'Sunday Sessions' which started in Oct '06 and is building quite nicely. The series is looking for all original music produced both locally and interstate to put on as a free concert in the AFC's Piano Bar.
