Coopers Alive in Adelaide

The 'Coopers Alive' SA Live Music Showcase is a new initiative that aims to encourage local artists to actively participate in planning, promoting and evaluating their live performances, as well as providing an entertaining and creative showcase for all music-lovers to enjoy. The Coopers Alive events will take over the city on Friday 25 July and Saturday 26 July and will feature none less than 12 handpicked local up-and-coming acts spread over 4 Adelaide venues.  For details, see the Feature Article .

Samuel's Heart Benefit - presented by SCALA  
SCALA (Songwriters, Composers And Lyricists Association) is holding a special benefit night of live music on 5th July to raise funds for Samuel Shepherdson, the young baby of award winning singer-songwriter and freelance journalist Catherine Blanch, who was born with two holes in his heart. All proceeds will help Samuel's family pay for medical expenses, travel and accommodation for upcoming surgery in Melbourne.

Adelaide Festival Centre is pleased to announce its program for the 2008 OzAsia Festival, which will run from 14 - 28 September. The program includes an eclectic mix of music, dance, theatre, visual art, food and free events, involving a wide variety of Australian and Asian artists and a number of Australian premieres. Jazz & Jamm - A Tribute to Ritsuko  
On Thursday 17th of May 2007, South Australian jazz pianist Ritsuko lost her brave battle against cancer and the Australian Music Industry, in particular the jazz community, lost a great composer and fellow musician. To help fulfill Ritusko's wish to support other musicians in similar circumstances through Support Act Limited, a group of South Australias top jazz bands and musicians have come together to present the show Jazz & Jamm a tribute to Ritsuko at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Sunday 12th of August.

Free Music at the Adelaide Festival Centre  
The Adelaide Festival Centre is currently running a free afternoon music program called 'Sunday Sessions' which started in Oct '06 and is building quite nicely. The series is looking for all original music produced both locally and interstate to put on as a free concert in the AFC's Piano Bar.
